Release version — Dec 2017

Installed on the <blacknewengland.org> domain. The database is public (read only) and is available for registered researchers in the region around Portsmouth NH (USA).

Test version — Sept 2017

Rewritten by <mainerd.com> with staff testing and review. This software was donated to BHTNH by mainerd and is governed by an open source MIT License. For more information, please contact us.

Prototype version — May 2017

Created as a capstone project by a team of students majoring in information systems at the University of New Hampshire. This was a proof-of-concept, based on a detailed data analysis, which enabled further subsequent development.

Database concept — Nov 2016

The initial request for this database was conveyed by historian Valerie Cunningham, for the Black Heritage Trail of NH. The original requirements and final design were worked out by Ken Schoman, of <mainerd.com>.
